Gentle nervous system care for women in perimenopause and beyond

There comes a stage where your body feels different.

Sleep becomes lighter.

Your nervous system feels wired — or completely flat.

You wake at 3am for no clear reason.

Your joints ache.

Your patience feels thinner.

You don’t quite feel like yourself.

Menopause is not something to fix. But it is a transition that deeply affects your nervous system.

And your nervous system needs support.

Why massage during menopause?

Chronic stress keeps the body in a constant state of “fight or flight.” Over time, this can contribute to sleep disruption, muscle tension, hormonal imbalance and emotional fatigue.

Holistic massage works gently with the nervous system to encourage a shift into the paprasympathetic nervous system of “rest and repair.” Through intentional touch, slow rhythm and regulated pressure. This shift supports improved sleep, reduced muscle guarding and a greater sense of emotional steadiness.

Supporting Women through Hormonal Change

Fluctuating oestrogen influences:

  • Stress resilience

  • Cortisol levels

  • Sleep cycles

  • Joint and muscle comfort

  • Mood stability

  • Digestive rhythm

When hormones shift, your nervous system often becomes more reactive.

You may notice:

  • Anxiety or internal restlessness

  • Broken sleep or night sweats

  • Joint stiffness

  • Lower back discomfort

  • Digestive changes or bloating

  • Emotional sensitivity

  • Feeling tired but wired

Holistic massage supports your body by helping it move out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-repair. When your nervous system settles, everything else has space to recalibrate

My Approach

My menopause support sessions are slow, steady and intentionally regulating.

This is not deep sports massage. And it’s not rushed relaxation. It’s bodywork designed to help you feel safe, supported and more at home in your body.

Your 60 or 90 minute session includes holistic massage tailored to your symptoms — whether that’s:

  • Persistent neck and shoulder tension from stress

  • Lower back tightness

  • Hip or joint stiffness

  • Sleep-related nervous system tension

  • Digestive discomfort linked to stress

  • General overwhelm or emotional fatigue

Sessions may also include:

  • Gentle nervous system settling techniques

  • Optional Reiki integration

  • Carefully selected essential oil blends (used safely at low dilution)

  • Soft, grounding sound to support integration

Everything is intentional. Nothing is overwhelming. The aim is simple:

To help you feel steadier.

Who is this for?

This session may be especially supportive if you are:

  • In perimenopause and feeling heightened or anxious

  • Waking in the early hours unable to settle

  • Experiencing joint stiffness or muscular tension

  • On HRT but still feeling dysregulated

  • Wanting nervous system support alongside medical care

Massage does not replace medical treatment.

But it can be a powerful support alongside it.

Menopause can feel invisible. You keep functioning. You keep showing up.

This is a space where you don’t have to.

If you are navigating this transition and looking for grounded, steady support, I would love to welcome you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can massage help menopause symptoms?

Massage doesn’t treat menopause itself, but it can support the body during this hormonal transition.

Many women find that regular massage helps with sleep quality, nervous system regulation, muscular tension and joint stiffness. When the body moves out of a stressed state and into rest-and-repair, symptoms such as anxiety, overwhelm and physical tightness often soften.

Massage can be a supportive part of caring for your body during perimenopause and menopause.

Is massage safe during menopause?

Yes. Massage is generally very safe during perimenopause and menopause.

Sessions are always tailored to how your body is feeling on the day. Some women prefer very gentle work when their nervous system feels sensitive, while others enjoy deeper pressure for muscular tension.

Essential oils, if used, are always carefully diluted and optional.

How often should I have massage during menopause?

This varies from person to person.

Some women benefit from a session every few weeks during particularly stressful or symptomatic periods, while others prefer occasional sessions when their body feels especially tense or unsettled.

Many clients find that regular massage helps maintain a steadier nervous system and better sleep over time.
